• This captivating floral design rug has many of the features that make Bessarabian antique rugs stand out. It features a light ivory cream background and complex floral pattern featuring roses and scrollwork leaves. One of the favored features of these area rugs is their use of color. These awe inspiring and beautiful rugs are known for using as many as a hundred different shades to create a delicate, realistic effect. This use of color and artistic skill gives these European rugs a three-dimensional effect that is found in few other art forms in the area.
• The ornate design of this Bessarabian rug gives it a formal quality that is suitable for modern homes. These carpets were inspired by the neoclassical style of the French Aubusson carpets. Some of them were produced in formal carpet weaving centers, while others were created by the weavers in the villages surrounding the formal manufacturing centers. This one has the exquisite artistry and precision of the handwoven rugs of the famous manufacturing centers.
