• The center cloud band motif of this beautiful and subtle antique oval rug is woven in subtle gray and taupe with only splashes of light coral red butterflies and chrysanthemums floral motifs. The small small rosette design at the center of the oval Chinese dragon rug is beautifully framed by the four red and brown butterflies and the central motif itself is flanked by the 8 larger chrysanthemums flowers. All of these patterns are surrounded by a graceful Chinese cloud band / vine scroll pattern that is comprised of interlaced vines and leaves.
• This almost embossed pattern radiates outward through the rest of the entire rug and creates a subtle interplay of texture to the pattern. At first, it seems as though the gray leaves and vines are alone on a beige field; but there are actually two sets of interlocking vines, with the other made in the same color as the background.
