Colors are way different in person, very blue. And yes the texture is very rough under foot but we are using this under our dining room table and wanted something thin. It’s basically like the underside of a hand knotted rug.

I was not happy with the texture. Really rough on the feet. The gray looked green with the yellowish brown in rug.

I searched forever for a very thin quality rug to use as a bathroom runner. This one is perfect. I am not using a rug pad but it could be made to feel more plush with one. Looks antique.

Overall very pleased with this rug. I will say, it is VERY low pile. If you are looking for a plush oriental than this is not your rug. We are using it as a runner in our hallway and it works out perfectly. The colors are pretty muted. Also I have to admit, when I first got it I had no idea which side went up. I wound up calling the manufacturer and you can use either side.
