Beautiful rug… everything I exp!

The rugs are style/color wise what I expected. What I did NOT expect is the mess they make. No amount of shaking or vacuuming helps with the constant detritus the rugs leave on the floor. There is a fine almost dust-like substance that literally falls like snow. Filaments shake off the rugs and all over the floor every time any of them are touched. My husband's allergies are in major over-drive, but I can’t keep up with mess. As soon as I vacuum the floor and move the rugs to get under them or next to them, more material falls. I have not used my Oreck on the rugs, because that seems unwise, but I have used my Dyson w/o the beater brush. The canister fills, but material continuously falls back out of the vac head, and if I knock it on the floor to clear the head, the amount of dust and filaments falling from the head is distressing. I have rugs of all ages and materials in my house, but I have never had an issue like this. Unfortunately, these rugs are not returnable, so I am stuck with them.
