Bibikabad rugs and carpets are from western Iran near Hamadan and employ the Turkish knot and have designs similar to those of Malayer rugs, but often in larger sizes. In the earlier examples, camel tones are frequent, but red dominates in more vintage rugs. The artistic level of antique Bibikabad rugs is generally much higher than the usual run of Hamadan area weavings.
