Throughout centuries, rugs from Oushak have been considered one of the finest in the world. They have been represented among the carefully chosen and highly esteemed objects d’art in the studied interiors and still life paintings of important European personages since the sixteenth century, as depicted by such artists as Holbein, Lotto, Velasquez, Memling, and Vermeer. This antique Oushak rug was made circa 1920. If properly maintained, it will serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear.
