The Pamplona rug is based on an original Asmara painting by Russian artist Ludmila Slavinsky who imbued the rug with the drama of the Spanish city. A thousand tonal shades of red from ruby to Cabernet are complemented by gold and beige in a design inspired by the French Empire period. Combining ancient Savonnerie dyeing and weaving methods with a loop weave invented by Asmara, this cut and loop pile rug has subtle shade and texture variations reminiscent of the best antique rugs.
