Based on an original Asmara painting by Tracy Schmidt after researching 18th-century white plaster ceiling patterns of architect Robert Adams and the drawings of Piranesi. Olive and raspberry-toned patterns interlink octagonal medallions as in a painted coffered ceiling. Combining ancient Savonnerie dyeing and knotting methods with a loop knot invented by Asmara, this cut and loop pile rug has subtle shade and texture variations reminiscent of the best antique rugs.
