The Antique Black Color Minimalist Open Field Chinese Art Deco Rug is an exceptional piece from circa 1935 that captures the height of the Art Deco movement. Hand-knotted in China using high-quality wool, this rectangular rug features a dramatic, velvety black field that creates a bold minimalist aesthetic. Elegant sprays of peonies and cherry branches in soft blush, cream, and sage tones adorn the corners, providing a stunning asymmetrical counterpoint to the solid field. A cool silver-gray scrolling border frames the design, emphasizing the structure and form characteristic of the period. With a 0.5-inch pile height, this room-sized rug serves as a sophisticated foundational element for modern interiors, bridging Eastern tradition and Western modernity. Its excellent preservation makes it a highly desirable collector's item for any home.
