Perfect on the buffet sideboard A little background history: Originally designed in the 1940s for the Gino of Capri restaurant, lovingly known as "Ginos" by New Yorkers, Scalamandre restored the Zebras wallcovering in the upper east side institution in the 1970s after it was destroyed in a fire. Flora Scalamandre, wife of Franco, free-handed the signature motif that would come to know as the iconic Sclamandre zebras. The pattern has been celebrated the world over in design and the movies. It was featured in the "Royal Tenenbaums" and "Mightly Aphrodite". Pattern design has grown in color offerings and mediums.

Palampores or tree-of-life patterns have origins in India, where the exotic designs were hand-painted and mordant dyed--then exported to Europe and England for use as elaborate bed hangings and curtains. Scalamandre's timeless tree-of-life print, Pondicherry, is offered in rich blues on cream crackled porcelain for today's classic interior. The grand scale of the exotic tree is softened with finely detailed flowers and foliage and is accented with small birds and animals. This is typical of this historic and favored fabric design. The Pondicherry quatrefoil planter is scaled for four, 6" diameter plants such as orchids for an easy, yet perfect centerpiece. Place the four plants in the shaped planter, then add the custom florist detail by adding moss as filler for a finishing touch. You may also place a single plant for an elegant statement on the dining table. We also love to use the planters for entertaining. Simply, layer a bubble cushion on the bottom, then adds cubed ice. The planter can then be used for wine or a drinks chiller on the sideboard.

Beautiful and smiling EVA flowerpot from Bjorn Wiinblad. The flowerpot has a diameter of 8.3" and is 8.3" high and can be used to display plants of medium size or arranged flower compositions. Eva flowerpot is made of glossy glazed ceramic with colored decal and is inspired by Wiinblad's original EVA vases, which had wide heads with floral decorations and a cone-shaped body. The delicate face is from Wiinblad's original line and the dress pattern is a reinterpretation of Bjorn Wiinblad's illustrations.
