The manufacturer's products replicate the look of lead, iron, concrete, and terra cotta at a fraction of the weight to provide ease of handling.

These were nice but not quite worth the price, in my view. They look and feel not too different from something you could get substantially less expensively from a big box store. The sides were bowed out in shipping as well. Also, I hunted around the internet to get the matching square planters - the color (same company, same name, same colorway) was much lighter on these than the others. But - my flowers look great.. The color named taupe is the color of cement. The finishing is smooth but imperfections including a hole where light passes through, are noticeable. The weight is fine for the size. The glazed planters are high-fired at 1000 degrees centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. We are also subjected to rigorous testing in freeze-thaw conditions to ensure quality. Due to the processes used in the manufacturing of our hand-made and hand-glazed containers, all variations with respect to firing, color, size, and crackling are not deemed to be defects but are natural occurrences in the manufacturing process. The glazes on their containers consist of natural, not chemical, components, and therefore the final color of the product will vary. This process creates the unique beauty of each piece.
