The teak quality is good, it is clear and without know. However, I wish the bench is of heavier weight. Another thing is that the curve of the two arms always accumulate the rain water, which is not ideal. But over all the bench is not bad. I expect it to last long, many years, I hope.. Jo. NY. Shore requires no finishing and will not rot when left outdoors where rain and sun will damage other lesser quality woods. Left untreated, the shore will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. Sturdy mortise and tenon construction provides the highest quality joinery that will last for many years. The original color can be maintained by applying a seasonal coat of Australian timber oil (not included).
