The ribs and supporting arms are fitted with stainless steel through bolts, making all of the parts easily interchangeable.

I did a lot of research while shopping for a patio umbrella and Cape Umbrellas offered the best options, colors, fabrics, and sizes. There are many different types and brands of patio/market and price points out there with quite a bit of them much cheaper, but you get what you pay for and this umbrella is a quality built product that will last me a long time. Ordered 2, 1 came with small holes in the fabric and dirty (probably used). I believe these are commercial grade umbrellas so they are high quality (other than the damage). Also ordered 2 umbrella stands which were also drop shipped from the same company. These also arrived damaged and one had paperwork in the box that showed it had been returned from a country club (the metal components were completely bashed in) Wayfair responded immediately saying a new umbrella and new stands will be shipped to us. In the meantime, my husband had to repair the stands to the best of his ability so we can use them for a party (reason we ordered them), because replacements will not arrive in enough time. Bambrella Santa Ana collection has a two-piece pole so that the umbrella pole can be split. This allows for easy storage and ease of transportation. The pole connector is made from stainless steel and the screw system is extremely strong. The hub and runner are made from nylon, and are designed so that they can be split in half. This permits the arms to be replaced quite easily. We also use a patented cleat system instead of using a pin to hold up the umbrella. This enables one to have the shade at different heights.

It's awesome, worth the money. Very sturdy the auto open is fast! It's an expected amount of effort when pulling the collar down to close the umbrella. The fabric does seem very nice.
