One of Kingsley Bate's larger tables, the oval Essex comfortably seats 10 to 12 people in the expanded position and 6 to 8 in the closed position. This table has 2 rotating and self-storing leaves that transform the large table into a smaller version. The table accommodates the largest of Kingsley Bate's umbrellas. We purchased this to go on the uncovered dining portion of our new outdoor hardscape. The size is great and the table is very sturdy, even when extended to 10ft. We've had the table almost a year and it's been exposed to TN sun, rain, and even snow. So far so good! We prefer the non weathered teak look, so we treated the table twice now with teak oil. The table is definitely darkening on top and not so much underneath. As it's an outside table, we are ok with that. Hoping the sun will even out the finish come summertime.
