The shorea wood is dense and finishes beautifully with light sanding and a couple of coats of Watco Teak Oil. I will update this after they experience a Houston summer. The chairs are very comfortable although the backs are straight. Assembly was straightforward. However, four holes in the sides that the seat screw into were not predrilled as they were supposed to be. It probably doesn't matter since the seat is heavy and cradled by the other pieces but I drilled the holes and attached the seat anyway for extra stability. Also, I laughed when I saw the 100 grit sandpaper they provide: one square inch! But okay, you need to buy finishing supplies anyway and it's cheap. Enjoy! I wish they made a glider bench.

I purchased these chairs to go with two teak chairs I bought years ago. I chose these as they were the same style as the chairs I have, plus wood is very similar to teak without the high cost. Chairs are already "graying", I'm very happy with my choice.

It is exactly what I was searching for in design and quality. It will be placed in a new flower/shrub bed.
