Aluminum: First thoroughly wash your piece with mild dish soap and water, and towel dry. Do not use abrasives or clean in automatic dishwashers as that will affect its luster. As with any metal, Lunares items will scratch if not handled properly. Like any metal, leaving food for extended periods may result in discoloration - especially highly acidic or salty foods such as salad dressings, vinegar, tomatoes, or other fruits. If using Lunares containers for fresh flowers, coat the inside of the piece with heavy household shortening to protect the surface from chemicals in the soil and water.
