We ordered 2 of these umbrellas, and both have been defective. We sent back 1 because it arrived broken, and the 2nd one we kept will not fully close and bc of this went flying in the wind and broke. The pulley system opens the umbrella, but it does not close unless you climb onto a chair, grab the top and wrestle it down (and even then did not.close all the way). They are pretty, but non-functional. We are out 500 bc of this and had the umbrella for 3 weeks.

These umbrellas are fabulous! The are solid teak. Substantial hardware. Easy to put together! We owned 2 teak umbrellas from Basta Sole for 30 years. We could not get new canopies. (We had replaced them several times.) We got an estimate for new custom canopies that were more expensive than these umbrellas.

When I opened the umbrella, the sunbrella fabric was already noticeably yellow out of the package, and the white string for the pulley system was all dirty. Dissatisfied.
