FL/Y is an essentially-styled suspension lamp. The particular transparency of the material and the sheen of the colors recreate the idea of a soap bubble, shimmering iridescently in the light. The shade is not perfectly hemispherical, with the cut-off falling just below the level of the diameter, offering a greater concentration of light.

I have used this piece before a few times. The design is simply beautiful, the quality is sublime. This piece is from Spain, imported...and the packing is unbelievable. the light glows through the wood veneer, making for a striking visual effect. All of there products are pieces of artwork. Can not resist! The NomNom Light by Odin Visser is a contemporary lighting design that puts a smile on your face and a tingle in your belly. James Bartlett was inspired by the forms of ancient columns and pillars, particularly those of the ancient Greek order of architecture: Doric. The traditional forms have been subverted so that the classical scalloped details of the structure instead encircle the interior of the shade. This detail can therefore only be seen from certain angles, particularly beautiful when viewed from below, revealing a form that is not unlike the crimped edge of a seashell. The beautiful marbled material is actually produced from a resin, giving the appearance of a heavy, solid form, that is, in fact, lightweight and translucent, allowing for a great variety of sizes and finishes. An elegant smooth marble-look is complimented by quality fittings, to give a contemporary and stylish finish.
