In 2013 Ray Power created LINK. And so the story of infinite geometry continues through the magic of light.

The 1st Baron Bourchier was born several hundred years too late to enjoy hanging NUT throughout his shadowy castle. Which is a pity, because the granny knot on which NUT is based sat proudly on the heraldic badge of the Bourchier family. We however are fortunate to live in an era when NUT can adorn our own little castles; a powerful symbol of our exquisite breeding. We can thank the brilliant Marivi Calvo and Ray Power for their valor and insight. Long may they reign supreme.

This light is gorgeous and unique! It is exactly what I wanted over my sink during my kitchen remodel. It adds a unique texture and a pop of color that complements my space perfectly! The Una Pendant is the culmination of many innovative fabrication techniques developed at Cerno. The fixture’s exterior showcases the natural beauty of the solid wood construction. Ample light is shed into the room from recessed light sources that preserve the simple linear form.

New Wave comprises two interlocking interior and exterior wood veneer panels. Differing in colour to the exterior panel, the interior panel’s edge juts out, creating a clever design feature that enhances the New Wave’s profile. The resulting composition is well-proportioned and fluid, giving the New Wave a smooth, free-flowing countenance.

POD & POPPY are a husk that shines with the power of radiance.

The Calx is a nice example of modern design where the methods and the materials themselves are integral to its very conception, aligning form and function, which creates a synergy that is evident. The fixture ultimately forms a square aperture but enjoys a beautifully simple faceted structure.

STITCHES, THE EMBROIDERED LIGHT. Egbert-Jan Lam of Netherlands-based Burojet Design Studio created the ‘embroidered’ Stitches family of lamps. Called Mopti, Tombuctú, Djenné and Bamako—after towns and cities in the West African nation of Mali—each lamp has its own distinct pattern. To make an individual lamp, veneer lengths are crafted in a traditional sewing fashion: the pattern is marked out, cut and then repeated. Where hemming is normally used to complete a garment, the Stitches lamp has a visible hemstitch through which light radiates. The unique shape of each Stitches lamp is an allusion to the adobe mosques found across Mali. Moreover, the Stitches lamps embody Mali’s long history as a producer of embroidery.

Omma is an inventive lamp, like a tree with fluttering leaves full of light. In Eli Gutierrez’s prepossessing design, it is almost possible to imagine the lamp’s movable wood veneer, artfully edged with metal, flapping in a gentle breeze.

Designed by Ramón Esteve, Black Note is an architectural lamp whose perpendicular shades rise and fall in harmony. Black Note’s rhythmic arrangement is inspired by a piano’s black keys, their sharps and flats used to add a dramatic effect. The rhythmic arrangement of eight upright wood veneer shades on the Black Note Keys Suspension lamp achieve a striking silhouette. Combining wood veneer and a trim metal structure, this contemporary lamp is both sharp and impressive. Black Note Keys is available in three wood veneers: Natural Cherry, Ivory White y Natural Beech. Its metal finishes are Matt Black and Gold.

Raindrops of music that permeate throughout life, as if Javier Herrero had cosen the form of a concierto to present his designs to us. These drops, suspended in the night, creating inspiration for us all.

Designed by Burkhard Dämmer, I-Club epitomises the use of clean lines in good design. The symmetrical beauty of this lamp is evident across each of its forms. Available as a Short or Long lighting fixture, the I-Club Slim Suspension has the option of a black or white top diffuser (black preventing any upward light), and a matt satin acrylic bottom diffuser. This sharp and elegant lamp is especially ideal for any environment requiring directional, downward lighting, for example, above a desk or kitchen surface. The I-Club Slim Suspension is also striking when arranged in a uniform formation. Designed by Terence Woodgate and demonstrating pure cylindrical or conical form, solid pendant is crafted from a range of quality materials including oak, walnut and marble. The rounded inner edge at the shade base is a design signature of the Solid collection. A patented adjustable shade support allows the shade to be hung vertical and straight. Inside, every shade several LED circuits are hidden, which can be lit all at once or by sections to meet the requirements of the room and the time of day. Dune is a sculptural light whose shape is intriguingly amorphous. Designed by Madrid-based Mayice, Dune is a single piece of hand-blown borosilicate glass, enveloping a wood veneer diffuser with a seedpod-like opening on one side. The glass is hand-blown by Eduardo Garuti, an accomplished artisan. With mastery and great dexterity, Garuti is able to reveal the natural beauty found in glass. Dune’s distinctive shape is made up of two symmetrical ends, and an irregular, bulb-shaped centre. The wood veneer diffuser houses the lamp’s dimmable LED light source, and downward light from the seedpod-like opening is softened by the glass. DANDELION, THE RADIANT LIGHT. Bearing a resemblance to its flowering namesake, Burkhard Dämmer’s large Dandelion suspension lamp is a radiant composite of many single florets. Independent and distinct, each funnel-shaped floret appears to shine alone, yet en masse they create the Dandelion’s sparkle. The florets are made using LZF’s wood veneer and then placed side by side, where they rise and fall in tandem from the Dandelion’s centre. The effect is striking, with every funnel of light coalescing in one collective and brilliant whole. The Dandelion pendant was the recipient of the prestigious German Design Award 2017.
