Tread, Vistosi’s collection of lamps with a vintage soul and industrial style, is enriched with a new diffuser for the suspended version, again designed by the creative duo Chiaramonte & Marin. If the previous diffuser was reminiscent of an old oil lamp, taking us back to the Sixties, the new one does not lose its vintage inspiration, but is transformed and changes style: the blown glass with its characteristic lateral grooves, from which the name of the collection itself derives (from the English word thread), disappears and makes way for a smooth glass, with a decidedly larger diameter and whose shape recalls that of a suction cup. A new solution that makes it possible to illuminate small living areas even with just one element, containing costs, but without giving up a precious glass and a design element, able to characterise and enhance the environment in which it is inserted. Whatever the colour of the glass, the colour of the light does not change because the base of the diffuser is open; the different shades only influence the intensity of the illumination, making it more or less warm.

The Hashira collection is a modern and Nordic take on the traditional Japanese rice paper lantern. A fusion of East and West, tradition and modernity, and a perfect balance of aesthetics and proportion and simplicity and character, Hashira is a new collection of floor, table, and pendant lamps for modern spaces. Designed by Norm Architects, the collection takes its cues from visits to traditional Japanese Washi paper makers and its name from the Japanese word for column or pillar. The cylindrical Hashira lamp rises majestically from the floor. The translucent fabric shade not only acts as a diffuser, projecting the light in multiple directions while creating a cozy, glare-free ambiance, but it also adds palpable appeal that enhances the softness of an interior, acoustically as well as tactilely. Shaped from the basic geometric form in architecture, the slender Hashira table lamp is set on a wooden base that underpins the minimalist expression and is visible through the translucent fabric shade that softly diffuses the light in multiple directions. Spreading ambient light in a room, the Hashira collection makes for purposeful lighting above a dining table, in a reception area, or on a table in a hotel bedroom, bringing a sense of understated luxury and purpose to interior spaces.

On a stroll through barcelona in the 1960s, designer miguel milá found an abandoned opal globe outside a glass factory. He took it home, and over the years, it became the heart of a large family. As its name suggests, cesta (spanish for “basket”) was designed to hold this fragile shade.

The elegance of blown glass finds a new dimension in the Jube collection, designed for Vistosi by the Favaretto&Partners studio. The studio has once again used its classic modus operandi to this collection: pertinence in the application of materials, precision of design, and the search for innovation in form and function. Among the various dimensions of glass elements, the two largest can be combined so as to configure a perfectly harmonious suspension, such that they appear to be united, a single soul. The larger transparent glass, available in smoke, terracotta, antique green, crystal and amethyst colours, houses a second diffuser in glossy white crystal: the result is a sinuous lamp whose different shapes overlap and colours blend tone on tone, giving it an exquisite vintage feel. Jube is a prestigious, timeless collection that never goes out of fashion, thanks to its timeless, refined and elegant style. It is a style that unites the four types of lamps without distinction: suspension, wall, table, floor – all with a LED light source. Its combinations give life to unique pieces that are perfect to be placed in retro-style environments.

Miguel milá learned to master the expressiveness of steel by giving it a fragile heart. Strength and emotion, angle and curve. In a duel between strength and fragility, cesta metálica comes with or without a soft leather handle, contrasting with the well-aimed severity of the brackets that gently hold the delicate opal globe.

Babel, whose name comes from the biblical story of the unfinished tower, is both a sturdy sculpture and a lamp apt for night-time intimacy. The use of alabaster, solid at the base and hollow for the shade, with no two units the same, made babel a piece of art that began as a deliberate affront to the prevailing trends of the time.

TR bulb is a clever solution for modern city living, inspired by the way people are increasingly becoming urban nomads, moving between cities and countries to pursue careers and life experiences. The first collaboration between Audo and Tim Rundle, the TR bulb is designed to be taken from apartment to apartment, and installed by simply screwing it into the pendant sockets hanging in ceilings all over the world with no electrical expertise required. The dimmable LED bulb, with its elegant, spherical form hides the lamp fitting, while the opal glass diffuser creates an even, harmonious glow, preventing glare.

From the beginning of the creation of the Dome, we knew that sooner or later we should expand the collection with smaller versions that allow us to create lighter spaces. Under these premises were born the Domitas, lamps made with thin wooden slats that converge between them, forming a small dome that keeps inside the LED source.

The Puppet collection by Vistosi expresses passion and artisan know-how. The undisputed protagonist is blown glass, irregularly striped, an ancient manufacturing technique, known since the Romans and then also used for the processing of Murano glass. Here, from the breath of master glassmakers, new, magical shapes come to life. For Puppet, the Romani Saccani Architetti Associati studio, already designer of the Diadema collection, chose the sphere, a symbol of perfection and union, a movement that has no beginning or end, and therefore immutable over time, just like the Puppet collection, which since its conception has become an icon of the Vistosi catalogue. Moreover, the expressive research of Romani Saccani Architetti Associati is aimed at defining a strong, identifying, but conceptually simple, and therefore easily understandable sign. The result is a collection with a pure, immediate design, free of unnecessary frills. Puppet is available as a pendant lamp, wall lamp and table lamp. The suspension version includes spheres of three different sizes, and is available in different variants such as linear versions, those with a round rosette or in the chandelier. The latter allows you to fix the diffusers to the ceiling with steel cables as desired, creating ever-changing games with the fabric electric cables that recall the strings that moved ancient puppets. The diffusers are available in four glass finishes (shaded white, transparent crystal, transparent smoke, transparent amber) with the possibility of mixing them together. The metal frame can be in polished chrome finish with gray fabric electrical cable or matt black with black fabric electrical cable. The Puppet Ring collection, born in 2019, plays with spheres of different sizes, differentiating itself from the “classic” version by using a frame composed of rings of different sizes, single or combined, which form the base on which the precious glass spheres rest, which blend with the structure thanks to a pre-forming inside the blown glass. In addition to the three existing suspensions, three new configurations are added which, due to their large dimensions, are particularly suitable for large spaces. In the wall light, a ring supports a larger sphere, oriented towards the ceiling, and a smaller one facing the floor. Light and elegant, Puppet Ring ethereally combines crystal, smoked, amber and shaded white glass with gold and satin black nickel finishes.

Riflesso is one of Vistosi’s most iconic lamp collections. In the latter variant the recent restyling by designers Chiaramonte & Marin allows a better diffusion of light. The three sinuous shapes of Riflesso, which are reminiscent of soap bubbles and make lightness and transparency their hallmark, now feature a dual light source. The LED is positioned at the top, where the gold or satin-finished copper structure joins the glass, and at the bottom, at the end of the second structure. Whatever the colour (crystal, pink, amber or smoked), the glass is almost invisible and becomes a simple tool for propagating light. This result is possible thanks to the experience of Vistosi’s master glassmakers who, with skill and craftsmanship, make this precious raw material visible only through the reflection of light, enhancing the concept of simplicity and lightness from which the collection’s concept originates. In Riflesso, therefore, glass becomes light, functionality merges with design, and the ultimate purpose of a lamp is never lost sight of: to illuminate, but at the same time to furnish the environment harmoniously. Hence the careful study of dimensions, which allow Riflesso to adapt to different needs, spaces and contexts, from homes to offices. The double LED source and the greater light diffusion allow the lamp to be used individually even in more spacious environments.

A design combining a classical concept with a retro inspiration. The transparent base and the white diffuser give a warm light.
