Meyda Co-Founder Meyer Cohen created this lighting design on the front porch of his summer studio in Old Forge in Upstate New York. The Meyer Lantern was designed with a Honey art glass roof and bottom; with a cornucopia of Blues; Greens; Yellows; and Reds. Today the pendant can be seen adorning camps and vacation homes throughout the Adirondack Mountains. The shade is created using the famous Meyda Tiffany copperfoil construction technique and complemented with a Mahogany Bronze finish. The overall height ranges from 17 to 53 inches; as the chain length can be easily adjusted in the field. Well the lovely pendant lamp for the front porch arrived, and now my electrician can dispense with the tacky monstrosity that has been there for way too long and put my new beautiful Perigold light up in its place. I’m so excited. Looks like real Tiffany, only without the anxiety. New lamps make everything better! My life will feel complete (at least for a few minutes) and my electricians will be so happy that this new light doesn’t weigh much more than five pounds. Taking down the monstrosity will be the worst part of the job, and then it will be smooth sailing all the way! Wish I had many many more beautiful flowery words for this amazing experience, but this time I think I’ll let simplicity and taste speak for themselves, because when all is said and done, they usually do.. In the early 20th century, Tiffany Studios used it's artful mastery to develop the look of a woven fabric with a fringed skirt from art glass.
