In conceiving Cortina, designer Pablo Pardo sought to create a light that would assert its presence but seamlessly complement a variety of surroundings. What he built is a stoic, sculptural luminaire that emits a seductive light through its transparent and diffused surfaces. Cortina’s monolithic form factor creates a noble light that mimics its architectural surroundings. Fluidly dimmable, the piece is comprised of a clear acrylic shade and a translucent fabric diffuser to shield the upward-facing light source.

Inspired by the Tridacna gigas: the world’s largest clam and source of the most extraordinary pearls. This collection celebrates the beauty of rarity and reveal. Oblong, pearl-like opal glass diffusers rest atop ruffled metal “shells,” painted in rich hues of burgundy, pine green, and dusty peach. The forms echo the ancient shell game, a dance of deception and discovery, where anticipation meets allure. Select pieces, including the table lamp, floor lamp, and wall sconce, incorporate deep walnut wood, adding warmth, texture, and timeless sophistication to the collection’s sculptural elegance.

Versus is a study in contrast, translating the human form into sculptural lighting. Strong metal cones in a range of luxe finishes are anchored on faux stone columns that resemble soapstone, each tipped with a fashion-forward finial for visual intrigue. Inspired by the surrealist art of Leonora Carrington, the collection evokes slender, sharpened silhouettes that occupy space like ethereal figures or walking obelisks. The shapes recall heads, tilted chins, and leaning brows, creating a dramatic interplay of form, shadow, and scale. Versus continues a design exploration begun in 2007, celebrating contrast, elegance, and subtle wit—a nod to the timeless jest of Spy vs Spy and the enduring power of sculptural storytelling in the home.

The lamp is very well made and is a beautiful gold color. I love the double pull chains. The only thing that is negative about it is it has a smell that I’m sure will fade. It’s the metal that has the smell not the lampshade. That is the only reason I am giving it a four star instead of a five.. Teresa. Omaha, NE. Mon Jul 20 2026

The product is a conceptual tribute to the machine age: Streamlined, understated, and honest in its function as a light source. The lamp serves the purpose well for which it was purchased. It really brightens a dark room. There should be a note to install the lampshade upside down. Typically, you would put the lampshade on with the inner cross-pieces on the upper side of the shade. If you do that on this one, the light bulb sticks out above the shade. If you turn it upside down, it sits perfectly.. Andi. Austin, TX. Mon Jul 31 2023
