When he designed the Mirasole gold wall sconce, Tom Caldwell was feeling nostalgic, remembering the décor of ice cream parlors that were staples at one time in America. The milky glass globes are supported on shapely stems in a contemporary gold leaf finish and ornamented with fluted leaf patterns in a darker gold finish to add interest to the design. Whimsical details are the single leaves fluttering from the stems.

The angular arms and black iron finish on the Compass wall sconce hold references popular during the industrial age. The rings that connect the arms on this black sconce have a machined feel to them, appearing as if they could raise the two white linen shades that angle away from each other.
