This is a high-quality, enjoy-forever lamp. The solid brass components are machined (turned) not just pressed metal that's been painted. The ceramic is a gorgeous rich color with depth and luster. The design is funky enough to be interesting but not so in-your-face as to detract from other elements in the room (and we're not likely to get tired of it either.) The shade is simple but executed perfectly. This is a winner.
