I was looking for a small, modern fan without a light. I bought this one after looking at very limited options. I was really disappointed in the motor of this one. When you turn on the power nothing happens for about 5 seconds. Then it s.l.o.w.l.y gains speed like it's struggling to get going. Eventually it seems to run as it should, but this is an unacceptable flaw in a fan that costs over $300. It does not give me hope that the life of the fan will be very long. I would have returned it, but missed the window.
