I bought this lamp only for the base, and will be using my own shade. The base is true to size, and appears to be of good quality. The shade, however, is waaaaaay too small for the size of the arch.

Nice look and feel though the arch could be a bit longer such that the light shines more downward. Right now it is a bit high and shines in the face of anyone sitting below.
