This is a beautiful lamp although it's not the finish I ordered. I ordered brass and received a chrome lamp. However I'm keeping the chrome, it is beautiful and the shade is the most noticed aspect of the lamp. The dimmer switch is by far the best I have ever seen! Just turn the dial from off and the light begins to glow, it works perfectly and so easily in that it is positioned right where you would expect it on this type of lamp. I'm using a 60 watt incandescent bulb and the warm glow it provides is perfect with this lamp and in my room. Finally, the lamp shade is perfect.. I really love this lamp and the way it has improved the quality of light in my living room. Even though the base is the wrong color!

The lamp serves the purpose well for which it was purchased. It really brightens a dark room. There should be a note to install the lampshade upside down. Typically, you would put the lampshade on with the inner cross-pieces on the upper side of the shade. If you do that on this one, the light bulb sticks out above the shade. If you turn it upside down, it sits perfectly.

Shade arrived damaged because it was glued to the box! Lamp also damaged. Piece necessary to screw the two lengths of poles together was missing. Am told that they are re-sending another. We'll see. A $600 lamp arriving in two boxes, BOTH boxes containing damaged goods. Amazing
