Do not purchase, it is made in China, it has a plastic base. the 60 watt light bulb is 1/6 of an inch from the shade and after 15 minutes is extremely hot. It is back in the box being shipped back, Not a good value for the price,

Pretty lamp, but I burned myself on the top finial after the lamp has been on for no more than 15 minutes. Be careful ~ the top finial gets very hot very quickly!
