The rooster has not base so the glass sits on my table with no padding to protect the wood. The lamp light heats up since there is no ventilation to allow the heat to escape. It is very pretty when it is lit. The rooster's comb and tail feathers do not light so look a little odd.

So pleased with this lamp. Have had many people give comments on how pretty it is! wayfair team has been so helpful .
