It's NOT battery powered. We bought this for a place where we couldn't get a power cord. It says it's battery powered but it has a regular cord. Also, when it arrived, it didn't work. The wires in the place where you screw in the light bulb pulled out. Luckily my husband is an electrical engineer and fixed it. It's also really big--not the dimensions they give. But, we did like it so decided to keep it. Just know it's not as described.
