These are beautiful sconces that project a soft light. The white material is more like a linen fabric; it is not glass, fyi. The problem is that, despite the description, these lights do *not* have a switch. We needed lights with a switch, which is why I ordered these. Fortunately, my husband is very handy and was able to install a switch himself. But that's not going to be an option for many people. So, only purchase this is you do not need a switch on your sconce.

These sconces are pretty and sophisticated and put out a good amount of light in a corner of our house. They're a little bigger than I realized (obviously my fault for not looking closely at the measurements!). Very happy with purchase.
