Glass & Metal Canisters & Jars

The collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work. "The first time I saw this tree, it looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies... as if they would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye."

The Michael Aram Pomegranate kitchen canister takes its inspiration from one of the most universal and ancient symbols in the world. The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal as well as fertility and union.

I am so disappointed!! I now have 4 Michael Aram Canisters in the wrong size. I do not understand, at this point, why no one has opened the boxes and verified that the canister was 9.75" tall. We have spoken with three people and still just received another wrong canister.. Paige. Naples, FL. Mon Jan 17 2022

This canister is one member of our extremely versatile family of glass canisters, available in four sizes. Their functionality is only limited by your imagination; we’ve used these in kitchens, bathrooms and even to display shells or other collectibles (design tip: group multiples to make an elegant statement). It measures 4.7 inches in diameter and 6.1 inches high.

The Flights of Fancy collection is a series of unique objects that celebrate whimsy in daily life. Whether seen individually or among other pieces, they evoke a sense of charm and fantasy. Drawing profoundly from Aram’s background as a sculptor, each piece emerges from hand-sculpted clay and offers a child-like quality with an inherent depth of meaning.

The collection was inspired by the powerful sensuality of orchids and the rich ambiance of haute couture strikingly simple yet full of the most extreme detail. The collection has an almost gothic feeling opiated, lush, and smoldering like the dark, velvety atmosphere of a luxurious evening. "There is something so seductive about orchids. In blackened nickel, they are even more sublime, like a woman wearing a black velvet gown floating through a great estate or a glassy urban high-rise. The dark atmosphere of the orchids against the hammered metal is like the afterglow of a beautiful evening."

Lovely design, slightly smaller than dimensions indicated. Using it as a toilet paper caddy.. Anonymous. Hanover, MD. Sat Jul 23 2022

Pantry staples—flour, sugar, and coffee—might seem the most obvious choices with which to fill a Sky Check Canister, but the possibilities are endless! Keep it in the kitchen with coffee beans and tea bags, cookies and candies, or dog biscuits and birdseed—or invent new uses around the house. Each enameled steel canister is hand-painted with sky blue checks and topped with an elegant clear glass knob.

The Lock-Eat collection has been designed for food preservation amid various techniques as per countless recipes. It is possible to preserve fruit, vegetables, jams and jellies, syrups and fruit juices, and more. Lock-Eat jars and carafes are ideal as they are suitable for heat treatment (boiling or potting), oil, pickled, brine, dry-cure (or dry salt), and more. The benefits: clear glass lid, natural rubber gasket, fill level, clear glass jar, stainless steel elastic clamp. For correct assembly, the gasket tab must be positioned opposite the stainless steel clamp. Suggested uses: airtight (hermetic) use - the Lock-Eat jar is sealed off from the surrounding air by means of a glass lid, natural rubber gasket, and stainless steel elastic clamp, avoiding the development of food bacteria. Canning - the pressure inside the jar increases in comparison to the external pressure during the heating. The stainless steel elastic clamp allows for the expulsion of internal air and steam present inside the jar, while this also avoids any entrance of any external air. Once the jar is completely cooled down the vacuum will have taken place inside the jar. The external air pressure will force the glass lid down onto the jar sealing it. With Lock-Eat jars, you can easily check the seals/vacuum either by lifting or removing completely the stainless steel elastic clamp and simply trying to lift off the glass lid and check if the lid releases. If the lid is sealed onto the jar, the vacuum has taken place. Carrying out this simple test avoids the danger of inadvertently consuming spoiled food. In order to open the lid, pull the rubber ring tab allowing outside air to enter the jar thus neutralizing the vacuum and easily lifting the lid from the jar. Table serving solutions - the innovative Lock-Eat jars and glass lids have been created to present food in an original way; from appetizers and finger food to desserts. They can be used for the service at the table, bar, buffet, breakfast, happy hours, and on all special occasions. The Lock-Eat food and juice jars have a glass lid that can be completely removed making them practical to use, compact in size, and easy to wash in a dishwasher. The Lock-Eat collection is functional, multipurpose, and at the same time an expression of contemporary design, particularly suitable for the presentation and service of single-serving food (amuse-bouche).

A brilliant example of mixed material design, the product marries warm acacia wood and glass to create a modern interpretation of the server. Its clear glass body allows you to easily see how much of its contents remain, and its wood lid seals tight for freshness. This set includes a metal scoop that nestles snugly into the lid.

A quintessentially Italian look in solid pewter. The pewter is cast in hand-carved molds, then gently tumbled with ceramic pellets to produce a soft antique patina. Made In Italy.

The classic kitchen jar was reinterpreted by designer Mattia Di Rosa: rather than on the outside, the design here is to be found on the inside. With a strong pinch of irony, Di Rosa has created Gianni, the little man who clings to the lid. The hermetic jar is suddenly so much fun that you won't want to fill it.

The Fruit collection offers an interesting range of items for the home. Each can stand on its own as a simple and charming sculptural object that's perfect for oneself or as a gift. The fact that they also have a functional purpose in our daily lives makes them even more special. "I have a particular love of Fruit and their symbolism. They are like gifts from nature, coming down from the tree ready to nourish us. Their ripened shapes are already evocative of vessels. My apple has an arrow-shaped spoon piercing it just as a gentle reference to the story of William Tell. The apple is more traditionally symbolic of love, fertility, and even temptation. For me, it will also represent the city I love - New York."

Great for indoor or outdoor use.

The Julieta kitchen boxes in glass and stainless steel for the kitchen are a homage to the characters from the novels of the Spanish poet Josep Vicenç Foix. In this object, the ambivalent detail, close to the designer's heart, is the relationship between the plain glass and the deformed lid.

Dressed, created by the designer Marcel Wanders, is a collection characterized by delicate decoration, hidden in the less visible parts of the objects. Look at it carefully and you will see, at the least expected place, a decoration that enhances its design, giving the products a unique and discreet elegance. Dressed, a collection of simple lines knows how to surprise thanks to its hidden decorations.

A defined strawberry rests above a leaf on this jar with the spoon. More fruit and foliage accompany a flower at the head of the spoon's handle, which is textured like a plant stem. The realistically detailed seeds and veins within each strawberry and leaf highlight these pewter designs. A clever gap in the lid's design allows the spoon to rest in the glass bowl when it's not in use.

Perfect jar for strawberry jam (or any flavour jam). The pewter lid with strawberry and blossoms is done very well and the spoon matches beautifully.. Margaret. Timmins, ON. Tue Jul 20 2021
