Your kitchen is too important to cut corners, and nothing is used more than your sink. Make a sound investment with a product that has addressed glaze longevity. Fossil Blu fireclay sinks are comprised of solid genuine crystalline-silica fireclay. When paired with a silica-based glaze and fired at 2200 degrees, the two silicas fuse together, creating a new quartz-like material. As opposed to inferior ceramic sinks, which are usually hollow core, fired at lower temperatures, and exhibit little fusing, ours is far superior and engineered to remove even the possibility of hairline cracks/crazing. As a G.C., I ordered Shaws Shaker Single Bowl Apron Front 33” kitchen sink in White for a client. Ordering online through Wayfair was straightforward and without issue. I price shopped before ordering as my professional preference is to work with local businesses to source products. However, for this product, local kitchen & bath showrooms that were Rohl vendors did not carry the Shaws line requiring the extra step of submitting a PO directly to House of Rohl, significantly adding to lead time. Local showrooms offered competitive pricing to Wayfair, but I had to pay for additional shipping costs associated with the PO and therefore, Wayfair offered this product (in stock) and at the most competitive price. Love the look, but you will need both a plumber and finish carpenter with patience and ability to customize cabinets due to the weight of the sink. Nantucket sinks is a reversible workstation farmhouse fireclay sink. The interior ledge is designed to hold the included acacia wood cutting board. This helps make tasks more efficient and keeps your countertops clear. This sink is reversible so the apron style you like can be displayed. One side has an arched design on its apron front while the other has a high horizontal ledge. The smooth glazed finish is scratch and stain-resistant and shows off the sink's elegant lines. The sides of the sink have a slight taper from top to bottom. There are many benefits to fireclay. Its glazed surface is eco-friendly requiring fewer cleansers. Apron-style base cabinet is required to support this sink. A note about fireclay: small cracks will appear on the unglazed underside of the sink, these are cosmetic only and have no impact on the performance of the sink.
