LeCreuset never disappoints, I love this oval bread oven, I have a round one and when this shape became available, I did not hesitate. I have used other brand enameled cast iron or ceramic pots to bake bread, none come close to the LeCreuset in quality and consistency of the finished loaf. Putting the loaf on a shallower portion of the unit as opposed to into a deep pot is easier and when removing the top for the final portion of the bake more of the loaf is exposed so there is a more consistent crust..
