We installed this 5 years ago on a remodel and had looked at the 9" depth in the store and decided on that one. We didn't realize right next to it was the 5" depth and when we went back to order at the plumbing store, accidentally just pointed the 5" depth out in a rush to get it ordered. When it arrived, the plumber pointed it out and said we would hate it and offered to return and reorder, but we had already waited 3 weeks for this one and were eager to be done with the remodel so we opted to keep it. We are 5 years in and wish we had paid more attention and listened to our plumber. The sink, while lovely and works, is not deep enough to counter splashing when washing hands, pots, etc. and so as a result the granite around the sink is already showing signs of hardwater stains that we will have to pay to have polished out. This sink is a really great size, and just fits over my 30" cabinet base. I love the lip and the colander that slides side to side. My husband and brother in law were able to install it with about a day and a half of work - neither of them are professional plumbers or handy men, but they are very DIY capable and were able to take on the project with no hiccups! The sink itself is gorgeous, easy to clean, easy on my dishes (nothing has broken) and the size is perfect. It has made cleaning my pots and pans very easy, there is so much space. I also love that the design has opened up my kitchen space as well. The metal hook that comes with it is good in theory but it’s kind of flimsy.
