The only negative that I could come up with is the power cord is very short so you need to place it in an area right next to an outlet. Other than that, I love this kettle. Like this item very much as far as the rate at which the water is heated. The down side is that the item weights a lot; it's heavy when filled with water and therefore makes it difficult to pour the water out over the ground coffee beans.
