Wrong purchase for me, but now I know. I need many more of the smaller bags and only one size larger bag. The glass containers are nice but the lids don't always stay sealed shut over time, and the glass is slippery! Definitely need the liquid blockers additional purchase for the bags to keep from ruining the air pump. Not confident shelf life or leftovers are actually lasting longer, but they might be. When it works the compression is obvious to the eye. But 4 days layer am I still willing to eat the sealed leftover meat? Probably not. Maybe one day when Im convinced removing the air extended its safe to consume life. Very expensive deoending on where you buy them. If the seal doesn't hold, the dish has been ruined.

Unfortunately the bags do not perform as advertised. On the 4th use of one of the quart bags, it leaked and, of course, wouldn't hold a seal. The advertisement of the bags was a huge selling point for me. The ad states that the bags can be washed and reused many times, which somewhat justified the cost for me. If I have to replace them after just 4 uses, the cost is no longer justified! I'm very disappointed.

These work very well for preserving food. I have used them for vegetables, sliced meat , and a roast. They send you little plastic domes with the kit , I initially couldn't determine what these were for. After putting sliced roast beef with juices in it and the juice getting sucked up into the vacuum, did I realize the domes were to keep liquid from getting in the vacuum. I have purchased a lot of the good saver product now because my food lasts much longer.

I have not used all the bags yet, but so far, two of the thirty new bags do not hold the vacuum for more than a day. I am sealing the bags properly. Nothing interferes with the zip lock. I push the circular button after suction. The bags are not overloaded. Yet two bags still lose the vacuum in about 24 hrs.

I keep so many different things with this. A couple examples are my homemade beef jerky and my oily fresh roasted coffee beans. After 3 months all STAY fresh! Versatile in application as you can put pretty much anything in a bag. Highly recommend.
