This steel is a replacement of a previous steel. I am thankful that Wusthof was willing to offer warranty replacement and recommended a better steel.

This replaced my original Wustoff honing steel that was around 20 years old and had seen extensive use. I immediately put the new steel to use as I had not been able to hone my knives for a couple of months. WOW, what a change. It immediately brought my knives back to the sharpness level I hadn’t been able to get for years. If you are thinking about this steel, get it. It’s worth every penny.
