[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always thought estimated prep times on recipes were wildly inaccurate because it would take me way longer to chop my vegetables than where the recipe said. Turns out, I was using bad knives. After using this knife, I can never go back to the inferior ones! Chopping my vegetables has been an absolute breeze with this knife. The edge is so sharp, it makes it easy to slice with. It's sturdy, so it actually pierces where I intend, instead of going its own path. There's also some weight in the handle, which makes balancing the knife so much easier. I absolutely adore this knife and will be using it for basically everything!

I specifically chose to test it out cutting potatoes, because with other knives that's usually difficult, especially when the potatoes do that thing where they suction themselves onto one side of the blade. The distinctive wave pattern on this knife kept that from happening! As I replace kitchen knives in the future, I'll be looking to Shun first.

I was so excited to receive this knife that when it finally came in I went out to get some sushi grade fish to make some sashimi. It was like a hot knife through butter it cut so smoothly. I’ve never had that happen before. Not only is it a beautiful knife but it isn’t super heavy and fits well in my hand. The quality seems like it’ll hold up for a long time. I’m very excited to own this beautiful knife.
