This is an amazing knife. I have always been a fan of Shun .... but usually I wait to catch a bargain somewhere on a discontinued or otherwise discounted item. This was a B-day present and I LOVE IT!! Pricey, but a real showstopper. Very lightweight and SHARP as a razor. I ended up sending in all my old knives to Kershaw for sharpening....didn't realize how dull they were until I used this baby!! On a side note, I love that Kershaw offers warranty/sharpening services. This was the first time I sent any knives in... and it was a reasonable experience. I think I sent 7 knives...and it cost me maybe $30 for shipping, sharpening and return. Not bad, I didn't think. I don't think I would trust anyone else to service such expensive knives, so I'm glad I tried it.
