DIY installed. Positives: Beautiful faucet, silky smooth movement of faucet and handle, easy to hook up. Overall we're both very satisfied. Only 4 stars because: (1) Flow rate is modest, more suitable for bathroom than kitchen. (2) It comes with a nice 3-hole cover plate, but the plate does NOT include a hole for the side sprayer. I was able to cut the hole, but it was a lot of work!

I bought this kitchen faucet to replace my discontinued Kohler Forte, so parts will eventually become unavailable. The Rival is a nice-looking faucet, but there are two major design flaws with this faucet. 1.) The plastic piece that goes under the metal escutcheon plate to cover the extra holes in the sink does not have a way to secure it through one of the unused holes to prevent rotation. The Forte did. After installation, the escutcheon plate would rotate freely, so I had to remove the faucet and come up with a series of stainless-steel fender washers, secured through one of the unused sink holes, to hold it in place. The metal escutcheon plate on the Forte was thicker and screwed into the base of the faucet. The Rival just sits on the metal escutcheon plate. When the two screws under the faucet are tightened to secure it, both sides of the metal escutcheon plate lift up off the sink slightly allowing water to penetrate under the plate. 2.) I read the reviews on the side sprayer hose being too stiff. It is the same hose you would find on any side sprayer. The problem is the design of the plastic diverter. The sprayer hose has to attach to it horizontally. This causes the sprayer hose to coil under the sink and is makes it nearly impossible to pull out the hose. The sprayer hose needs to rest under the sink in a U shape, so that it can be easily pulled up and out. I had to buy a 90-degree 1/4 female x 1/4 male brass fitting to attach to the diverter so the sprayer hose could attach under the faucet in the vertical position. I used my existing side sprayer. My last complaint is that Kohler had room to put a standard quarter size aerator on this faucet, but instead put a dime size aerator on this faucet. The stream of water is a tiny 3/8” wide.

The faucet is fine but it takes real strength to pull out the sprayer because the hose is so stiff. It's not catching on anything. It's almost hard to believe it could be so bad and hard to use.

This faucet was my wife's dream...so we thought. To start ,the hose on the sprayer, as others have indicated is very stiff and too short to reach the entire sink. I spent an hour on the chat line with someone, maybe AI, because the pressure on the prayer is anemic and the water pressure pounds when it is turned back to the faucet. They sent me replacement parts and assured me that there would be installation directions. Only one part had directions. I went to Kohler's site with no directions either. For instance, I cannot see up into the hole where I loosen the faucet housing, and nowhere, that I could find, did it show what size Allen wrench to to use. I still have not been able to loosen the housing. NOT HAPPY with this Kohler purchase. I guess I will pay my plumber friend to come and sort this out.

Now this is leaking from under the head unit. Will be looking tomorrow to replace with Moen or Delta.
