Kettle started leaking…..Woke up to water on counter and running down cabinets…KITCHENAID has gone to s#’t…..

I'm so glad I got this for free, because I would return it just because there's an airplane style ding for when it turns on and finishes heating and I'm just annoyed to all get out that every piece of machinery has to have sounds and lights. Just let it heat water.

I kept this kettle for only one reason: its design and color. Otherwise, it works well and is doing the job so far. I am frustrated by the inability to turn off the sound, which, by the way, is very loud. Appliances should operate quietly, not be a source of annoyance. The equipment really ought to have a mute control.

Very dissatisfied with this expensive electric kettle. I've upgraded from older version of KitchenAid kettle thinking this would be an improvement. The exterior is hot to the touch unlike the older version it would be slightly warm to the touch. Not more than a month and there are lime scales on the bottom of this new kettle with "lime reduction" as one of their new features of this kettle.
