Insinkerator operates quietly and efficiently. The replacement gasket was considerably easy to install. The original Insinkerator, including the gasket which I needed to replace, had been in this house since 1994 and we never had any problems with it.

Highly recommend. DIY skills a plus. As installation instructions included on the package are rather basic, I highly recommend watching a few youtube installation videos. For instance, when reinstalling the unit, pressure must be applied to the bottom of the unit while simultaneously reaching up and turning the locking ring. I used a bucket under the unit to keep it from dropping too far while the gasket was being replaced. I used a 4 foot long 4 inch wide by ½ inch thick wooden board with one end placed under the unit to gain some leverage while reinstalling the unit. This allowed me to use both my hands to push up on the locking ring while I used my leg to gently pull down on the other end of the board which pushed the unit up enough to allow the locking ring to engage. Not sure I would have succeeded without the board. All is back together now. The gasket looks great and there are no leaks.

my badger five has been under my sink for at least 15 yr; I think the gasket was original to the sink 1971. i watched a video on replacing a gasket on an insinkerator badger 5 with the matching gasket and it was done with very little resistance and with much ease. and now my sink is that much more sanitary and pleasant.

Volunteered to do the plumbing work for a neighbor who was putting in a new countertop, sink and faucet. She has an Insinkerator disposal (Badger 5) but the mounting gasket needed to be replaced (would have worked but wouldn't look good in the new sink). Bought this product because one of the two gaskets was the correct one. Worked great, but then had one leftover that I didn't need. Why not sell them individually and charge half the price?
