Finally broke down and spent the money on great knife. For anybody who doesn't think it's worth it, it is! This knife was exactly what I wanted, and I know its extra sharp because its new, but the quality steel will hold that edge much longer, and the wide blade is a definite plus over a standard blade when chopping and scooping up stuff to toss in a pan. Great weight, and good enough handle feel to use for a while without fatigue. Do yourself a favor, get this knife!

7” seems to be the best length for a kitchen workhorse. Global is a great brand. This knife feels strong, balanced and I know global brand knives take a good sharpening to keep them slicing like the first day they arrived.
