Excellent, high quality cabinet pull

I just gutted and remodeled my kitchen. (It was way overdue.) I chose white lacquer cabinets and these gorgeous polished brass pulls made by Colonial Bronze. Initially, I ordered all of my fixtures and pulls from a brick-and-mortar decorative hardware showroom that sells beautiful, upscale things, and that has a huge, knowledgeable staff. But whenever I've ordered from them, they state that I'll receive my purchase in 4-6 weeks. Their delivery estimate has always been accurate. However, this time, due to our late discovery of a cabinet design problem, I needed to obtain 2 additional pulls more quickly. My local B&M supplier could not expedite an order for me. Therefore, I went online to see whether I could buy 2 identical pulls lickety-split. Wayfair had the exact same pulls by the same manufacturer in stock in the precise color that I needed. I received them super-fast, without even paying extra for expedited shipping. Wayfair saved the day! I was very relieved. When I circled back to my local hardware showroom to let them know that I was able to purchase and receive my cabinet pulls within just a few days, their staff member responded that they order everything "made to order" and "fresh" for their clients. That made me wonder why I would ever need to wait up to 6 weeks for made-to-order and "fresh" brass cabinet pulls. They're not edible. WTH?
