Kitchen refresh, Cafe appliances are beautiful and well made

LOVE LOVE this microwave

A good unit. Sleek and easy to use.

The microwave is sleek looking and heats well. The comments regarding no backlighting and difficulty seeing the settings on the buttons is valid but we live with it (and a separate light). We keep the microwave clean and it gets adult use only, so it is cared for. Despite this, the back corner sparking issue began. The microwave was professionally installed with brand new electric (dedicated line) and we have a new panel and line service line so the issue is not external to the device. The biggest issue just happened. We woke up 2 days ago to find the front panel glass shattered. It is tempered safety glass, so it is still intact, however its spiderweb shattered over its entire surface. No one bumped, chipped, nicked, or otherwise misused the glass door, as this is adult use (boring, no party, empty nest adults) so I believe it is a defect. Warranty seems questionable at 1 year. Considering the issue we had with our oven/range/stove (taken care of after much back and forth and service calls) I would consider avoiding Cafe until they get their QC back to where its price commands.

I do not love it. Opening with a button closing with a button adds additional seconds to what should be split second of action. In addition the display is neither lit nor readable. It is not tilted. It is impossible to see you end up having to memorize what’s there so actually only two stars in addition there’s no quick buttons there’s an ad 30 seconds but that’s it. My other one has add 20 seconds and an addition every time you want to put 10 15/22 you have to put set time blah blah blah. Nope that’s it.
