Nice pot heats evenly. Cover does not fit tight, wobbles, no seal when want to steam.

Like all of the all clad pots and pans, its beautifully made. The pasta strainer insert is exactly what you need for making pasta.

This is a beautifully crafted pot, but please keep in mind that only the pot is made in the USA. It is of excellent quality too. The insert however is not made in the USA and neither are the handles on the pot. Birch Lane describes it’s specifications as made in the USA, but as you can see on the box it is not. The insert is thinner and even has a defect. One of the holes is still filled in. My complaint is that it cost 300 dollars. You can also go onto All-Clad and read the specifications which state insert and handles are made in China. I just wish that Birch Lane would do a better job with listing accurate information so that customers are not mislead. I have been waiting for almost a week for them to rectify the situation. Still lists incorrect information.

Love this pan! Perfect for pasta, but also fantastic for making stock. After simmering chicken/veg/etc. simply lift the insert out and I am left with beautiful clear stock.

I bought this a pot a number of years ago and have found it to be useless to cook even a pound of pasta. Once you put the colander in the water, since the colander sits MUCH HIGHER IN THE POT than the water level - there simply isn’t enough room for the pasta. I have yet to use it for such purpose effectively.

I love this pot especially because its beauatiful and the size it perfect. Use it often and have it sitting on a shelf to show it off.

Very, very nice pan. Would have been 5-star but the pasta insert rocks on the base pan. Fortunately this doesn't impact the function of the pan, but for this much money you'd think this would be correct. I was concerned that the forces of boiling might cause the pasta insert to rock and make noise, but that is not happening. The aspect ratio of this pan is a bit different than I expected -- the base pan is relatively small diameter and quite tall. Again, no real impact on functionality, just . . . different.

I would give it a 7. The reason is the china made insert is not round. Because of this is why I didn't rate higher. Pan US made is perfect
