William Morris Wallpaper Willow

This iconic pattern forms part of The Gallery’s collection of earlier printed chintz and wallpaper lengths. The design is based on the natural willow form, which was one of William Morris’ favorite motifs. Originally designed by William Morris as a wallpaper in 1887 and adapted for fabric in 1895, it is block printed in a diagonal branch pattern at Merton Abbey and combines abstraction with a gentle reminder of the outdoors. Simple yet stunning, Willow Bough Plum wallpaper displays trailing leaves with subtle boldness through lush purple and pink tones, complimented by popping rose-inspired orange, and is completed with a matte finish for a sophisticated modern feel.

Designed in 1892, Blackthorn was originally block-printed and features white blackthorn (or sloe) blossoms and violets with meadow flowers of red snakes head fritillaries and yellow daisies. The flowers bloom from a lattice of curling foliage, leaves, and stems in this iconic Morris pattern. Typical of Morris’ work, Blackthorn is a celebration of the beauty of nature. Blackthorn Charcoal and Burnt Orange displays an array of colors, from light grey to peachy coral tones, brought out by light and mustard yellows, alongside punchy accents of cranberry, all upon a charcoal backdrop. Completed with a matte finish, this wallpaper would make for a sophisticated and stunning feature wall.

So happy with this paper! It’s beautiful and great quality. Colorful but understated so it’s not overwhelming. Used it in my powder room.. Samantha. NJ. Mon Apr 13 2026

A beautiful and dynamic Morris design featuring perching and swooping birds against a network of foliage and an abundance of ripe pomegranates – some whole, some bursting open, and others getting pecked at by diving birds. The inspiration for this piece was William Morris’s much earlier pattern, ‘Fruit’, which similarly depicts luscious pomegranates amongst branches, leaves, and blooming pomegranate flowers. With nature as the focus, this vibrant and whimsical design is a fine exemplar of Morris’s characteristic style. Bird and Pomegranate Deep Green is a beautiful, statement design with its vivid richness in color. Displaying pops of muted terracotta, rosy pink, and cream against a multi-tonal sea of green. This matte-finish wallpaper would be an eye catching asset to any room.

This wallpaper was exactly as pictured and we love it! The texture is soft and feels high quality.. Amanda. Mesa, AZ. Fri Nov 15 2024

One of the most recognizable of all Morris designs, this all-over wallpaper was designed in 1874 and predates the more intricate Willow Boughs by 13 years.

Love this wallpaper. Looks beautiful on my wall. Operations. Sat Nov 15 2025

Marigold was designed by William Morris and registered as a wallpaper in 1875. The pattern incorporates larger marigold flowers amongst sprays of willow-like leaves in a sub-pattern of smaller foliage and flowers. The monochrome pattern was produced in a wide variety of colorways. Morris also registered the design as printed cotton later in 1875, one of only three designs Morris specifically intended to be produced as both a textile and a wallpaper. Marigold fibrous green perfectly showcases Morris’ famous design with a full black metallic print on a gorgeous deep green, textured background. This luxurious design adds an eye-catching element to this duo-toned wallpaper, making it the perfect choice for a sophisticated feel.

Beautiful, high quality wall paper that was easy to apply. I was also able to order another roll when I wanted more and it arrived quickly! Would definitely recommend. Sydney. Boston, MA. Fri Mar 21 2025

This much-loved Morris wallpaper design has been updated from the 1887 original and characterizes Morris's pre-eminent flair for design and composition with sinuous lines and subtle tone.

This much-loved Morris wallpaper design has been simplified and re-painted using three colors, which brings a gentle sophistication to the interior and a contemporary flavor to this classic design.

Designed by John Henry Dearle in the early 20th Century, the Garden pattern includes bold foliage with contrasting leaf shapes, supporting a variety of flowers in full bloom including elegant lilies.  The design’s structured formation and selection of plants is suggestive of a carefully planned and tended garden. Garden Dusty Blue displays a variety of stunning muted shades, from cream and blush pink to muted mustard yellow and charcoal grey. All laid upon a white background, adding emphasis to this stunningly sweet and charming floral design.

This wonderful interpretation of the classic willow bough wallpaper from 1887 characterizes Morris’s pre-eminent flair for design and composition. Colored using a fresh palette of springtime greens and golden yellows entwining stems and delicate willow leaves combine in this enduring design.

Honeysuckle was created by William Morris' daughter May in 1883. A light and uplifting design based on a net structure of untamed woody stems, small curling leaves in two tones and honeysuckle flowers. Honeysuckle Verde wallpaper encapsulates this beautiful design in shades, laid upon a rich fern green background. Creating a natural, earthy look within the comfort of the indoors.

Can’t wait to use this in a small primary bathroom! We think the color is better in person than online.. Lauren. Milwaukee , WI. Tue Feb 24 2026

This hand block printed design features large sensual tulips and their curling leaves, intwined with foliage and small pimpernel flowers. The pattern is a wonderful example of William Morris’ sense of humour since on initial inspection your eye is drawn towards the dominating, graphic tulip heads and yet the name of the design is attributed to the secondary floral detail; the smaller Pimpernel flower. Pimpernel Spring Breeze displays a depth of detail through its multi-tonal palette of sage hues, subtly accentuated by notes of blush pink represented in the flowers featured weaving throughout and finally brought to life by a rich gold feature colour. This wallpaper comes in a matt finish, adding a contemporary feel to a classical design.

Acanthus leaves decorate many of Morris’s designs and are made a central feature in his ‘Acanthus’ pattern for wallpaper. First used in Ancient Greek friezes and on the capitals of Corinthian columns, these swirling, curling leaves have decorated walls and buildings ever since. Morris found this classical motif ideal for repeating patterns and believed the large pattern he created here was perfect for smaller rooms, creating a more restful atmosphere than a smaller, dense pattern. Acanthus Blue from William Morris displays the beauty of Morris’ large leafy designs in calming yet engaging deep blue and teal tones. The matte paper finish of this wallpaper accentuates the fusion of classical and contemporary.

Just received this fabulous wallpaper. It’s so beautiful in person. Will be a great update to my hall. Will send pictures when able. Chris. Atlanta, GA. Tue Dec 09 2025

Although Morris regularly used birds in his designs, Brother Rabbit is his only repeating pattern to feature an animal. Designed in 1882, the design was originally created using wood blocks, which are now in the collection of the William Morris Gallery. Morris’s skilled team of printers would use up to 25 blocks per design in order to create his dense patterns. Brother Rabbit wallpaper features beautifully entwined leaves and trees in cream and deep mustard yellow, with accents of light blush pink. Then hidden within the foliage, you will be able to find birds and brother rabbit, beautifully coloured in that same cream tone, found under multi-tonal leaves, all laid upon a deep background. Perfect for creating a fresh and welcoming feel within any home.

This design is printed in three sections on one roll that can then be cut and joined together to make a full scene. Each roll is comprised of three 300cm panels (A, B, and C), with spacing between each for cutting or trimming. The panels make a total scene width of 205.5cm when hung.

Expertly crafted and produced using rotary printing to create an organic wide-width wallpaper with texture and the essence of weathered minerals. Available in gentle colorways with the addition of a darker Smokey Quartz version, this wallpaper is an ideal choice for creating interest across uninterrupted walls.

One of the most recognizable of all Morris designs this simple all-over wallpaper was first produced in 1874 and predates the more intricate Willow Bough by 13 years. Chosen by Ben Pentreath for its smaller scale and recolored to match his creative vision the neutral sunshine yellow of this soft interpretation introduces a more contemporary feel.

A new addition to the Morris & Co. wallpaper range, Emery’s Willow features unmistakable bubble-like shapes as a backdrop, introducing an element of play to this 1874 design. The willow tree, with its delicately entwining branches and curling leaves, is a motif William Morris returned to throughout his creative life. Emery’s Willow is inspired by a wallpaper design hung in the drawing room of esteemed typographer, book printer, and friend of William Morris, Sir Emery Walker. It re-enters the Morris & Co. range as a result of the collaboration collection between Morris & Co. and Emery Walker’s House.

With its reduced scale, Willow Bough Minor provides a good option as a wallcovering suitable for smaller spaces whilst retaining the character of the original version.

This matt finish wallpaper would make any house feel like a home.

Honeysuckle was created by William Morris' daughter May in 1883. A light and uplifting design based on a net structure of untamed woody stems, small curling leaves in two tones and honeysuckle flowers. Honeysuckle is one of three wallpapers attributed to May and was her most popular finished pattern. Honeysuckle Tidewater Blue wallpaper encapsulates this beautiful design in shades of pale orange and muted burnt red, within a sea of jade green and grey stems, laid upon a pale cream background. Creating a warm and inviting, cosy home feel.

Whimsical and full of nostalgic charm symmetrical plant motifs are formally arranged over this wallpaper typical of the Arts & Crafts style. Originally designed by J.H. Dearle in 1904 Meadow Sweet takes beautifully to its light airy colorways but truly stands out
