Artist Commentary: This painting was a real labor of love. I was drawn to these rusty old tugboats sitting in the harbor and was excited to figure out how to paint them. They had so much more detail than I typically paint that I had to work hard to simplify and only include the most necessary details. I loved how weather and worn they were, showing us exactly their trials and tribulations at sea.
