Expensive, but what an amazing natural product! Great polished finish. Better than we expected! They were well wrapped, but the crates were not as strong as they should be for the weight of the product. This stool is cut from a responsibly harvested chamcha tree trunk. Chamcha is an acacia species native to Thailand. We love the visible wood grains, even after we treat them to create this stone-like patina. The freeform line of the trunk remains intact, preserving the natural integrity of this piece. I ordered this in gold. This was a piece that made me a little nervous. It could be totally divine or lean a little tacky. When I saw it in person, I loved it! It’s beautiful and works perfectly in the space. A few weeks later I was looking through a wonderful book by legendary New York interior designer Alex Papachristidis, and I saw what I believe to be the exact stool he has used in a fabulous house in the Hamptons.
